My friend is unusual
There are things you would not guess
Behind those turquoise eyes
And short brown hair she does possess.
Her thoughts are quite extraordinary
She challenges what she hears.
She understands there’s always more
Than what you think is clear.
She’s friendly and somewhat quirky
And free like a bird.
She’s usually easygoing but still lets known her opinion
As well as being goofy and absurd.
My friend is always loyal and friendly
She fights for what is right.
And when she’s defending justice,
She’s like a pit bull – quite a fright.
She writes stories in her pastime
Creating worlds only known to her.
As her tabby-and-white cat lies near
And lets out a satisfied purr.
Having an aggressive parrot, a sweet cat, and two dogs,
Animals are treasured in her heart.
She’s read hundreds of books, teaches herself piano (quite well, too)
And that’s only the start!
She’s been homeschooled most her life
She has a strong faith in God.
She’s inspiring, slightly mysterious,
Enthusiastic and odd.
She’s lanky thanks to high metabolism
Is tall and speckled with freckles.
Wears sunglasses inside
And is beautiful and special.
Her favorite author is James Patterson
She says she’ll die laughing.
She adores the series Warriors
And makes some of her own clothing.
She wants to direct Broadway plays,
Her favorite one is Wicked.
She’s moved to several states
As far as Florida goes she likes it.
Sometimes my friend lacks faith in herself
Why, I am not sure.
She brings joy to all who meets her
Her spirit is as close as you can get to pure.
If she reads this, will she recognize herself?
Does she know how she’s touched the world?
Does she understand that she
Is one incredible girl?
She’ll probably wonder if she reads this,
Could that possibly be me?
And I’d respond,
Of course it is, Skittle.
